Sightseeing Tours
Explore the rich historical culture
and the unique blend of unspoilt mountains, plains and
beaches with one of our organised local tours!
These mainly cover visits to important historical and
cultural sites and are named accordingly.
Home for millions of birds every year, Cyprus is a bene-diction
for all nature lovers, and anybody who appreciates colour
and Fragrance. The island, birthplace of Aphrodite,
has succeeded in preserving an unpolluted coastline
and landscape in the heart of the Mediterranean. Nobody
can be indifferent towards the beauty of Northern Cyprus.
The landscape changes enchantingly within short distances
from pinnacled mountains to fertile plains. In North
Cyprus three main types of landscape follow one another
in long horizontal bands.
AMATEUR BOTANISTS will derive much pleasure and satisfaction
from the National of Alavkayasi. There are more than
1800 varieties of plants and flowers in Cyprus, hundred
of which do not exist anywhere else in the world.
COVERED WITH FORESTS 2000 years ago, the island is still
very woody in the mountains. Here eagles, falcons, vautours,
buzzards and the renowned Cypriot mufflon, a rare and
protected species, find shelter. Cyprus is a homeland
for partridges, sandpipers, ibises and geese too. Covered
with flowers throughout the year, North Cyprus is a
benediction for all nature lovers.

the historical, botanical or ornithological Cyprus.
THE NATURE WAKES UP in November: fields adopt green
as their colour and the whole of the island becomes
covered with flowers as soon as the first raindrops
fall -anemones, cyclamens, narcissus, hyacinths iris
or wild orchids, all flower in turn, followed by blossoms
of almond trees. April and may enjoy the full glory
of a golden sun: mimosa, hibiscus and jasmin, and finally
bougainvillea and roses appear in the summer.

Sea
Diving
With Northern Cyprus being one
of the best locations to dive in the world for experienced
divers, it is also a superb place for the non-diver
who wants to dip their head beneath the surface to see
first hand the underwater world of Jacques Cousteau,
Hans and Lotte Hass.
THE BEACHES OF NORTH CYPRUS are amongst the last in
the Mediterranean to be selected by the turtles which
lay their eggs during the months of July and August.
Two Protected species, Caretta-Carette and the Green
Turtle (Chelonia Mydas) immigrate in hundreds every
year. They dig holes as deep as one metre during the
night and 7 to 8 weeks later little babies appear. North
Cyprus cab be considered as the home for about 25% of
the Green Turtles of the Mediterranean. Groups of ecologists
and students have been observing and protecting these
rare animals from extinction for a number of years now. |
